Romania produced one of the biggest upsets in FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers, defeating Greece 73-66 to keep Group B wide open.

Despite trailing by 14 points, the hosts mounted an impressive comeback behind a dominant defensive display. The decisive moment came in the final minute, when Emi Cate blocked a layup attempt with Romania leading 69-66, helping seal a memorable victory.

Daron Russell led Romania with 20 points, while Lucas Tohatan added 13 points and six assists as 10 Romanian players found the scoresheet. The win improves Romania to 2-3, leaving them with a chance to reach the Second Round ahead of their final game in Montenegro.

Greece, coached by Vassilis Spanoulis, dropped to 3-2 despite 16 points from Giannoulis Larentzakis and a 10-point, 10-rebound, five-assist double-double by Kostas Papanikolaou.
