ASVEL and Monaco have been among the main topics in European basketball in recent weeks.

And, while both clubs were in a transitional period, it seems that things have started to go in the right direction. ASVEL has secured a good budget, led by Tony Parker from the bench, and bright days also seem to be ahead for Monaco.

This was discussed by LNB president Philippe Ausseur, who expressed optimism during his appearance on the NoA Basket show this Monday, highlighting the importance of ASVEL’s project for French basketball.

We could call this season a transitional one, more endured than provoked. But it is true that the club is heading towards a very large budget. A budget of around €40 million is being announced. This is very good for our championship; there could be major players, whether French or foreign, which is something to be happy about.

Another discussion point that emerged this season was the situation in Monaco. Future of the Roca Team also seems to be brightening, according to the president, who even mentioned a takeover project.

“There is a real, ambitious takeover project. That is why the league ensured that everything didn’t fall apart. Mr. Fedorycsev could be the sticking point; he’s holding on, but he must realize that he can no longer keep up and needs to pass the baton. […] We are looking at a project worth 30 to 40 million. At least 30. This too is a good thing. We can only rejoice if Monaco manages to restart. The conditions, we will see later.
