O’Shaquie Foster says Shakur Stevenson camp already preparing for him

“Most definitely. It’s setting up exactly how we wanted. How God intended for it to happen. It’s just happening like that,” said Foster to InsideRingShow when asked if he believes a win over Ford will create fan demand for a fight against Stevenson.

Foster suggested Stevenson’s camp has already been heavily involved behind the scenes while Ford prepares for Saturday’s fight.

“I see a lot. He [Shakur] got Wily, Shakur’s grandpa, everybody over there helping him, trying to give him tips on how to beat me. I’ve never seen nothing like it to be real with you. That’s how nervous. They know that I’m the truth. I just take it as a compliment as well.

“If you need all this help and all these people feel like they got to come give you advice and tell you this and that, then that shows you the caliber of fighter I am. So, I can’t wait to prove that and show them none of that’s going to work. And for sure, after this fight, I expect the public, I expect the fans, and everybody to demand the Shakur fight once we get rid of his body [Ford],” said Foster.

Shakur previously had a chance to fight O’Shaquie earlier this year after winning the WBC interim lightweight title against Stephen Fulton. Instead, Stevenson moved to 140 pounds to challenge Teofimo for the WBO title, losing his belt after failing to pay the sanctioning fee.

Saturday’s fight against Ford now carries added interest because a dominant Foster performance could renew calls for Shakur to revisit the matchup later this year.
