Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano have made it clear there’s no bad blood between them heading into their fight on Saturday and that respect carried over to one of the final faceoffs between the athletes before clashing in the cage.
While there were a few heated moments during the pre-fight press conference on Thursday, the biggest names competing on the card were all about business.
Rousey and Carano shared a stoic faceoff on stage after they each paid compliments to the other when discussing how this fight came together and pulling off such a massive event, which is being promoted by Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions.
In the co-main event, Nate Diaz and Mike Perry might be two of the toughest and most violent fighters in the sport but they saw no need to get heated before they meet in the cage. Diaz has said all week that he doesn’t see any need to start a beef with his opponents and instead he just reacts to what somebody has to say about him.
While Perry has promised a vicious knockout, he hasn’t really has much bad to say about Diaz in the leadup to the fight. In fact, Diaz and Perry actually shared a fist bump after their faceoff on stage.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou also shared a staredown with his opponent Philipe Lins as they meet in the third featured bout on the main card. Ngannou, who left the UFC in free agency, has scored one win in MMA since leaving his former fighting home when he finished Renan Ferreira in the PFL.
Now Ngannou seeks to build on that victory when he faces Lins on Saturday.
