Tim Bradley believes Vasyl Lomachenko struggled to accept the way his career ended and says that could be one of the biggest reasons behind the former three-division champion’s reported return to boxing.

Lomachenko has recently been linked to a comeback after stepping away from the sport following his close 2023 defeat to Devin Haney.

Bradley said his first reaction to the news was confusion because Lomachenko had already accomplished enough to secure his Hall of Fame legacy.

“But another piece of me, another side of me feels like he didn’t want to go out like he went out,” said Bradley on his YouTube channel.

“You know, I know how competitive Loma is. You know, I know what type of cloth he’s cut from. And I feel like him leaving after facing Devin Haney in a close fight. I don’t care how you had it. I had it for Haney. I don’t care how you guys had it at home. It was a very close fight. It could have went either way.

“However, I feel like he didn’t want to go out like that.

“I remember visuals. I have visuals in my mind of him literally crying in the locker room. He was hurt because he felt he had won the fight.

“And it was another one of those close fights where he felt like he didn’t get the better end of it.”

Bradley also said time away from the sport may have reminded Lomachenko how much he still misses boxing after spending nearly two years out of the ring.

“And as you step away, then you realize, ‘Damn, I miss it. Damn, I miss being in that ring. I miss training. I miss being in that light. I miss my fans.’

“I think the two years away probably gave him good needed rest because Lomachenko is a trailblazer, man.”
