Moor Park Golf Club in Hertfordshire has introduced a new fleet of hi-tech golf buggies that are fitted with on-board GPS and Bluetooth speakers.

The prestigious Rickmansworth-based venue, which boasts two Harry Colt-designed championship courses, has taken delivery of 30 Club Car Tempo carts which boast many state-of-the-art features designed to enhance the golfing experience for members and visitors, including live leaderboards and score tracking, GPS for detailed yardages, and speakers which can be synced with a smartphone.

Club Car’s Connect technology also helps the club’s golf operations to manage on-course traffic and prevent buggies from entering areas of the course that are off-limits to golfers.

Amber Rees, Moor Park’s Golf Manager., said: “We wanted a premium golf cart that would offer a better experience for our golfers and be more efficient operationally, and the Club Car Tempo ticks both boxes.”

She added: “Our courses are very hilly, so lots of our members need a cart. We also have a lot of corporate days, which is when Club Car Connect comes into its own, allowing us to display scoreboards on the screens in each vehicle and giving us control over where they can and cannot be driven.

“We’re on clay here, so it does get quite wet in the winter. Having the ability to geo-fence certain areas will mean we can get more use out of them during those months, ensuring they do not go on particularly wet parts of the course.”
