Braxton Key was forced to exit Valencia’s matchup against Kosner Baskonia during Round 30 of the 2025-26 Liga Endesa Regular Season and is dealing with pain, yet he is expected to be available for the upcoming Game 5 of the EuroLeague Playoffs, according to several local media outlets on Monday morning, including Tribuna Deportiva. The best-of-five series decider against Panathinaikos Aktor is scheduled for Wednesday at Roig Arena, with a spot in the 2026 EuroLeague Final Four Athens, presented by Etihad, on the line.
On Sunday, the 29-year-old combo forward suffered a nasal injury early in the second half. His side eventually suffered a narrow defeat, dropping to a 21–9 record and a three-way tie for third place with Baskonia and FC Barcelona. Following the game, head coach Pedro Martinez expressed initial uncertainty regarding Key’s status, noting that the player had been taken to the hospital for evaluation immediately after the incident.
Despite the injury scare, the former NCAA and G League champion is anticipated to take the floor as the Taronges look to complete a historic comeback from a 0–2 series deficit. The North Carolina native has provided steady contributions in his debut EuroLeague campaign, averaging 5.9 points and 3.4 rebounds over 32 appearances. While he is slated to play, Valencia remains shorthanded with Xabi Lopez-Arostegui and Josep Puerto still sidelined. On the other side, the Greens continue to navigate the postseason without captain Kostas Sloukas.
The Game 5 winner will join Olympiacos, Fenerbahce Beko, and Real Madrid in the championship-crowning tournament of the 2025-26 season. The advancing team is scheduled to face Madrid in the Final Four Semifinals on May 22 at Telekom Center Athens.
