Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Johan Rojas has been officially suspended 80 games without pay after testing for a banned performance enhancing drug (PED), MLB announced. Rojas tested positive for Boldenone, an anabolic steriod, per the league.

Rojas’ failed test had been revealed earlier this month after the 25-year-old center fielder was removed from the Dominican Republic’s roster for the World Baseball Classic. Rojas reportedly attempted to appeal the result, but was unsuccessful.

Rojas’ suspension will begin at the start of the 2026 season, with the outfielder set to miss half of the season. Philadelphia opens its season at home against the Texas Rangers on March 26.
