Alberto Montes is leaving his UFC debut with another big submission win.
The tap-out specialist scored a win over Ricky Turcios on the UFC 326 preliminary card, wrapping Turcios up in a D’Arce choke and putting him to sleep early in the second round.

Montes (11-1) is no stranger to chokes, with his past four victories all coming by way of D’Arce or anaconda, including the 2024 Contender Series win that earned him a UFC contract. While it took him some time to get a bead on the always tricky Turcios, when Montes managed to get the fight to the ground, it was a wrap, even with Turcios choosing to pass out rather than tap out.
Afterwards, Montes shared an emotional message about one of his coaches who died by suicide.
Turcios (12-6), a past Ultimate Fighter tournament winner, drops his third straight.
