Brandon Moreno wants nothing to do with UFC’s plans of holding a card on the White House lawn.
The Mexican veteran, a former flyweight champion who headlines this weekend’s UFC Mexico card in Mexico City opposite Lone’er Kavanagh, was asked by a reporter during Wednesday’s UFC media day if he considered asking to be part of the June 14 lineup.
“Brother, I want you to tell me why I would want to be there?” Moreno said.
The reporter then replied that it would be “very special,” which again drew no interest from Moreno.
“For what? For you?” Moreno said. “I’m not interested. Thank you very much.”

Moreno took a break from fighting in March of 2024 after a split decision defeat to Brandon Royval, just months after losing his belt to Alexandre Pantoja, and returned later that year to start a winning streak over Amir Albazi and Steve Erceg.
This past December, Moreno lost a title eliminator bout to Tatsuro Taira. It was the first stoppage defeat of his professional career. Moreno was originally scheduled to face off with Asu Almabayev in Mexico before Kavanagh stepped in as a replacement.
