Victor Wembanyama fueled a late run for the San Antonio Spurs en route to a 111-99 victory over the Houston Rockets in Toyota Center.

After leading for the first time during the third quarter, the visitors pulled away down the stretch to improve to 32-15 in the 2025-26 NBA Regular Season, while reducing the Rockets to 28-17.

The 22-year-old French center poured in 13 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter. Logging 28:36, he added 16 rebounds, five blocks, three assists, and two steals, besides connecting 8/15 field goals.

“It’s the goal to get closer and closer to that, and also to reduce the mistakes,” said Wembanyama in a postgame press conference, commenting on his side’s resurgence in the fourth period.

“Today I felt like it was the first game of the season, like I was in first-game-of-the-season shape,” he also pointed out about the Spurs returning to action for the first time since Sunday.

Polish teammate Jeremy Sochan (left quad soreness) was ruled out for Thursday’s game in Houston.

Starting opposite Wemby, Turkish Alperen Sengun finished with an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double plus seven assists and two steals over 35:47, after a brief exit in the fourth quarter due to a right ankle injury. Lasting 8:31. Swiss backup Clint Capela had five points, four rebounds, and two blocks.

Completing a back-to-back, the Rockets face the Atlanta Hawks in State Farm Arena on Thursday, with the Spurs resuming action on Saturday against the Charlotte Hornets in Spectrum Center.
