The bell rings and Owens fires off right hands on Punk. He sends Punk bouncing off the top rope midsection first and dumps him out of the ring, Punk gets Owens back inside and gains the upperhand, then fires off stomps on Owens.
Owens and Punk exchange right hands with one another during the commercial break, then wears him down with a front face lock and delivers a bodyslam to him. He goes for a pin, but Owens kicks out and Punk wears him down with a crossface.
Punk levels Owens with a clothesline and fires off stomps on him in the corner of the ring, but Owens lands a right hand on Punk’s midsection and fires off a chop on his chest.
Owens dumps Punk back into the ring and follows him inside back from the break, then connects with a cannonball on him in the corner and ascends to the top rope. Punk rolls out of the ring, but Owens follows him out and delivers a superkick to him to end him crashing on top of the announce desk. He delivers a Frog Splash to Punk off the barricade, then dumps him back in the ring and ascends to the top rope.
Owens delivers a Swanton Bomb to Punk and goes for a pin, but Punk kicks out and delivers a step-up knee to Owens in the corner. He levels him with a clothesline and ascends to the top rope, then delivers an elbow drop to Owens and pins him. Owens kicks out, but Punk cinches in an Anaconda Vice on him. Owens reverses into a pinfall, but Punk is forced to kick out.
Punk connects with a pair of swinging neckbreakers on Owens, then sets up for a GTS. Owens lands on his feet and intercepts Punk’s knee, then trips him up and locks in a Sharpshooter on Punk. Punk crawls over to the bottom rope to break the hold, but Owens is accidentally sent crashing into the referee and uses Punk to knock the referee off the ring apron.
Owens delivers a Stunner to Punk and pins him, but the referee is still down. Punk responds with a GTS to Owens and pins him, but the referee is still down and misses the fall once again. Punk checks on the referee, but Sami Zayn runs in through the crowd to send Punk crashing into the ring post. Owens delivers a Stunner to Punk and pins him as Zayn slides the referee into the ring, but Punk kicks out.
Zayn slides Owens the Undisputed WWE Championship belt to use with the referee down once again, but Owens decides not to use it. Zayn yells at him, but Owens tells him not like this and Zayn opts to hit Owens with the Undisputed WWE Championship belt. Punk then follows it up with a GTS on Owens and pins him for the win.
Winner (and still): CM Punk
After the match, Zayn hits Punk with his Undisputed WWE Championship. He holds up the Undisputed WWE Championship belt and promises to win it back as the show goes off the air.
