The show, which was headlined by a world title match, saw viewership grow by a margin of 4%, rising from 1,220,000 for the previous week’s show to 1,264,000 for last week’s show in the Lone Star State, as per “Wrestlenomics.” The blue brand has seen viewership hover around the 1.2 million mark over the last few weeks, with the average for the last month being 1,231,000.
Over in the all-important 18-49 key demographic, the rating remained the same as the previous week, registering at 0.29. This number is marginally higher than the month-long average, which stood at 0.28 before last week’s show.
The September 18 “SmackDown” featured two Money in the Bank qualifying matches, where Trick Williams qualified for the men’s match, while Jacy Jayne got the better of Jade Cargill and Alexa Bliss to enter the women’s match. The show also saw WWE commentator Michael Cole interview former Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, who promised to pull the trigger if he were in a situation like in his match against Randy Orton at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
The show ended with a world title match, where Sami Zayn defended his championship against Kevin Owens and retained it, while former champion CM Punk attacked both of them to take the show off the air.
