“It’s not complicated. It’s money. But this is the biggest slap in the face of British boxing fans that you could possibly make,” said Mannix to DAZN Boxing. “And I’m pointing the finger at Tyson Fury, and I’m pointing the finger at Anthony Joshua, because they are the figures with the power here.”

Mannix dismissed any suggestion that the decision would be unavoidable, insisting Fury and Joshua have enough influence to ensure the fight takes place where their fan base can attend.

“If it happens, it is so unbelievably greedy on the part of Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua,” Mannix continued. “Guys that have made tens of millions of dollars, hundreds of millions of dollars, backed by the support of British boxing fans.”

He also highlighted the financial and logistical obstacles UK supporters would face if the fight were staged in Nevada.

“And now you’re telling them, if they want to watch you, they’ve either got to pay $5,000 to fly halfway around the world to get to Las Vegas, spend money in hotels in Las Vegas, spend more money on tickets in Las Vegas,” said Mannix.

“If you don’t want to travel there, you’ve got to get your ass up at 4:00 in the morning to watch our fight, early morning Sunday over in the UK to watch our fight. It’s bonkers and absolutely insulting to British fans.”

Fury and Joshua are expected to meet after their scheduled return bouts, though no official announcement has been made regarding the fight’s date or location. Las Vegas and Wembley Stadium have both been discussed as potential venues.
