Alonzo Menifield picked up a huge win at UFC 331 on Saturday as he scored a split decision victory over Iwo Baraniewski to open the main card but he certainly didn’t walk away unscathed.
The veteran light heavyweight suffered a gruesome broken thumb in the opening round and by the end of the fight it appeared as if Menifield might lose that finger because the split was so terribly bad.
On Monday, the California State Athletic Commission released the medical suspensions from UFC 331 and Menifield was handed a 180 day suspension (six months) for a possible fracture to his left thumb. He’ll have to sit out the six months unless he receives a docto
