WWE star Penta has had a big few weeks, most recently qualifying for the Money in the Bank ladder match as a surprise entrant into a triple threat bout on the most recent edition of “WWE Raw.” The week before that, however, was even bigger for him, as he faced off against World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns in the main event of “Raw” in Mexico City. The luchador spoke about the night, and how much it meant to him, on KSAT’s “San Antonio Live,” where he put over “The Tribal Chief.”
“To be honest, Mexico City was one of the biggest nights of my life, because I faced him,” Penta said. “He is the best wrestler in the world. Everything was perfect. My country. My people. My family there. It was an amazing show, too. And now, I want a rematch, because Penta never gives up. Penta represents all those people who never give up and now, my focus and my next goal is the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.”
Penta nearly has his next shot at Reigns and the World Heavyweight title after qualifying for Money in the Bank with a victory over Dragon Lee and Dominik Mysterio on “Raw.” He was added to the match to replace Solo Sikoa, who was abducted by Royce Keys’ 946 faction ahead of the match.
He’ll face off in the ladder match against United States Champion Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, and Bron Breakker, with two spots in the match yet to be determined. A match on “WWE SmackDown” on Friday between former Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk, GUNTHER, and Finn Balor will determine one of those final spots.
