The Los Angeles Lakers’ superstar Luka Doncic is currently hosting the Lakers roster in his home country of Slovenia.

Meanwhile, the Slovenian National Team is continuing its preparations for the FIBA 2027 World Cup Qualifiers without Doncic.

The captain and experienced center of the Slovenian National Team Alen Omic, made statements to his country’s media, “Ekipa”.

When asked, ‘Did Doncic reach out to you during this period?’, Omic responded:

No, he didn’t talk to us. He has his own responsibilities. We left him to his own devices, and he left us to ours. Let him take care of what he needs to do. I hope all this comes to an end soon and he can join the national team to help us. We need everyone; it’s not just about Doncic. Our doors are open to every player. However, as the oldest player on the team, it’s true that I expect more from everyone.”

Luka Doncic had previously requested to be excused from the National Team this summer ‘to spend time with his daughters’.
