New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson is turning his NBA championship success into a mainstream media tour before heading back to the court for the 2026–27 Regular Season. The reigning Finals Most Valuable Player, who recently guided New York to its first title in 53 years, is balancing Hollywood spotlights with his preparation for the next season.
His packed schedule is extending to a guest appearance on NBC’s crime drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. A dedicated follower of the American police procedural crime drama television series, Brunson will feature in the fifth episode of Season 28, which is set to broadcast on November 5.
While network executives are keeping his exact character details secret, a promotional teaser alongside lead actress Mariska Hargitay has already caught the public’s attention. The clip highlights the friendly banter.
“It’s just a lot of pressure. Have you ever felt like you had millions of eyes on you and it all comes down to one night?” Hargitay asked Brunson in the skit as she steamed her dress and he was steaming his jersey.
“Seriously?” he asked. “Hey, Jalen, it’s just me. I don’t have anyone to tap it in for me,” Hargitay replied, referring to the Knicks’ iconic game-winning tip-in by OG Anunoby in Game 4 of the NBA Finals 2026 against the San Antonio Spurs.
Before that television episode debuts, Brunson will test his comedic timing by hosting the Season 52 premiere of Saturday Night Live on September 26. He has also made additional appearances in WWE programming during the offseason.
Once his studio commitments wrap up, the focus returns entirely to basketball. Training camp and media day begin in late September, forcing Brunson to quickly pivot back to the daily grind.
The championship defense officially begins on October 20. New York will host LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers in Madison Square Garden.
