Welcome to the latest edition of Missed Fists where we shine a light on fights from across the globe that may have been overlooked in these hectic times where it seems like there’s an MMA show every other day.
We’re in the final quarter of 2026 and the awards picture is beginning to shape up. A couple of weeks ago, we were treated to arguably the Most Chaotic Fight of the Year; this week, how about a Most Gruesome Submission candidate?

Kye Genesis vs. David Diaz
WARNING: This clip is absolutely NASTY.
Here’s Kye Genesis, from an amateur bout at Cage Titans 78 in Plymouth, Mass.:
I’m not sure Genesis’ opponent David Diaz even had the opportunity to tap there. Sure, he knew he was in danger, but he probably didn’t expect the hold to be locked in so precisely that it would result in his arm immediately being mangled.
Being able to see the exact moment where Diaz’s arm goes in the wrong direction… feels bad, man.
Anyway, here’s the full fight.
Diaz is 0-6 as an amateur now with five of those losses coming in the first round. Might be time to hang them up after you heal up, young man.
Michael Dufort vs. Antoine Chaput
Mohamed Ado vs. Mac Laursen
Samourai MMA has proven to be a redemption ground of sorts for former PFL fighter Michael Dufort and one-time Dana White Contender Series hopeful Mohamed Ado.
Both fighters were victorious at a recent event in Quebec, with Dufort closing the show with a gorgeous triangle-hammerlock combo to earn his fourth straight lightweight title defense.
Ado had a disappointing Contender Series outing in 2024, lasting just three minutes before getting tapped by Jonathan Micallef, and then lost two more fights in his return to Unified MMA. Since signing with Samourai, the 26-year-old has scored back-to-back quick knockouts, including a 25-second smashing of Mac Laursen.
Kevin Rosas vs. Darius Patterson
It was a mixed weekend for the Rosas family, with UFC standout Raul Rosas Jr.’s brothers Kevin and Jessie both in action. It didn’t go great for Jessie at Noche UFC, as he was nearly slammed through the canvas by Sean King, but Kevin shined at CFFC 161 in Rockford, Ill., winning via a nice leg lock.
Oden Muscat vs. Jesse Wynne
Over at Eternal MMA 110 in Queensland, Australia, another Jesse was on the wrong end of a brutal knockout.
Oden Muscat executed the best kind of takedown defense, a punch to the mush that had Wynne dreaming before he had time to properly fall down.

Alim Nabiev vs. Blood Diamond
We talked about redemption before and unfortunately for UFC washout Blood Diamond, there would be none in his recent Vault Fighting League appearance in Dubai.
Former Glory Kickboxing title contender Alim Nabiev sent Diamond to the Mirror Universe, rattling him with a right and then a left hand follow-up that had Diamond completely turned around.
Laryssa Leila vs. Fernanda Atomica
Thalyta Silva vs. Monica Fontes
Lucas Silva vs. Lucas Hodak
Adam Santos vs. Joao Vitor Pereira
LFA 241 in Minais Gerais, Brazil, was just an absolute killing floor, with Laryssa Leila, Thalyta Silva, Lucas Silva, and Adam Santos all delivering brutal knockouts.
I’m partial to Lucas Silva’s demolition of Lucas Hodak, because he probably should called it a day after the first knockdown, but showed enough resilience to then get unequivocally demolished seconds later.
Jakub Dohnal vs. Vojto Barborik
At Oktagon 93 in Brno, Czech Republic, Jakub Dohnal landed a spinning wheel kick on Vojto Barborik that is best appreciated with the volume on max.
I’m going with “WHAP” if I had to transcribe that sound effect.
Nate Byers vs. Kobe Stewart
Amateur lightweight Nate Byers kept it simple at Synergy FC 31 in Springfield, Mo., just bashing Kobe Stewart with a right hand that left Stewart slumped against the cage.
Jo Arai vs. Daichi Kitakata
Jo Arai stood his ground at a DEEP event in Tokyo, daring Daichi Kitakata to step into range and making him pay when he did.
One blindingly fast right hand later and Kitakata face-planted.
Thanupetch vs. Joachim Ouraghi
We started off with a gnarly finish, so it’s only fitting we end with one, this knockout brought to us from the world of Muay Thai.
Thanupetch had Joachim Ouraghi on the ropes, literally, and knocked him out cold with a well-timed elbow. The problem is that Ouraghi didn’t go down, so he then ate an unprotected knee right into his ribcage, and another massive elbow that put him flat out.
Legitimately one of the filthiest knockouts in recent memory.
