Benjamin Berrouet posted 22 points and 13 rebounds in the final, completing a dominant tournament in which he recorded seven double-doubles in as many games

Latvia won the FIBA U16 EuroBasket title for the first time after defeating France 75-69 in Saturday’s final.

France led 33-32 at halftime, but Latvia took control by winning the third quarter 24-11 and held on to complete its perfect 7-0 tournament run.

Benjamin Berrouet once again led the champions, finishing with 22 points and 13 rebounds. He recorded a double-double in all seven games and was named tournament MVP after averaging 23.5 points, 15.0 rebounds and 3.5 blocks.

Berrouet was joined in the All-Star Five by Latvia teammate Markuss Jahovics, France’s Messie-Guethan Iwani, Spain’s Rhys Robinson and Lithuania’s Danielius Jasikevicius, the nephew of former EuroBasket MVP and current Fenerbahce head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius.

Spain completed the podium by edging Lithuania 96-93 in the third-place game, securing its 22nd medal at the U16 EuroBasket.
