The two combined for 1,651 punches thrown between the two in what was a slugfest to the end, as they closed the fight with a voluminous exchange (Compubox).

After the match, Big Baby expressed interest in wanting to fight on the Xander Zayas-Boots Ennis undercard, which is scheduled for June 27. Jarrell wants to stay active and fighting again in June would give him three fights in six months.

He’d like to have a big fight against one of the top heavyweights, targeting Oleksandr Usyk, Tyson Fury, and Deontay Wilder. His promoter, Eddie Hearn, stated that the American heavyweight match to make is a fight between Miller and Wilder at either Madison Square Garden or the Barclays Center.

Deontay is coming off a recent victory, having defeated Derek Chisora on April 4 in London. A match between the two would be a viable option for both and would generate great fan interest.

Hearn stated there is still much work to do with Miller, but today’s performance is a step in the right direction. If he can continue improving, he could potentially earn the title shot he’s seeking. Usyk is scheduled to fight Rico Verhoeven on May 23 in Egypt.

It’s rumored that if victorious, Oleksandr could then face Wilder thereafter in the United States. The WBO heavyweight champion Fabio Wardley is set to fight Daniel Dubois on May 9; the winner will have many available options to pick from.

If Jarrell wants to be considered a championship-level contender, he must do as Hearn told the media: “He lost 12 pounds from the Ibeh fight. That’s really not a lot of weight. Like for a guy that size. He was going on about it like he just revolutionized his body.

It’s a start, but what he did do was come in condition. There he’s gone 12 hard rounds and was breathing really well…He will be a problem for any heavyweight when he’s fit.”

Miller is improving, and with the help of Bozy Ennis, he’ll continue to improve. Bozy stated earlier in the week that Jarrell is very athletic, all he has to do is listen, and he’ll be successful. If he can maintain focus and stay disciplined, he can continue on his trajectory.
