Devin Haney and Jack Catterall are in advanced negotiations for an October 3 fight for Haney’s WBO welterweight title. The matchup would pull Catterall away from his ordered fight against WBA champion Rolly Romero.
Julius Julianis reported Friday that negotiations progressed after Haney’s talks with Liam Paro broke down over the Australian’s financial demands.
Catterall brings a secondary title into the picture. The British southpaw won the WBA Regular welterweight belt by defeating Shakhram Giyasov by unanimous decision on May 23 at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt. He dropped Giyasov in the opening round b
