Crvena zvezda Meridianbet began their preseason campaign with a convincing 102–68 victory over Mladost at the Aleksandar Nikolić Hall in Belgrade.
The closed-door practice game marked the first test of the preparation period for coach Navarro’s team, who controlled the contest and secured a comfortable win despite missing six players.
Navarro was unable to count on Ognjen Dobrić, Dejan Davidovac, Nikola Đurišić, Chima Moneke, Ebuka Izundu and David Kramer for the opening preseason matchup.
Baldwin led Crvena zvezda’s scoring with 23 points, while Semi Ojeleye added 18. Nwora contributed 16 points, with Carter finishing the game with 12.
Jones and Wailer-Babb also made significant contributions, recording eight assists each as Crvena zvezda shared the ball effectively throughout the game.
The coaching staff also used the opportunity to give minutes to younger players, with Sava Đurić and Jovan Bikić both taking part in the game.
Wins for Milan, Bayern Munich and Fenerbahce
This wasn’t the only friendly game featuring an Euroleague team. FC Bayern Múnich also got a comfortable win, defeating the Slovakian team Levice 112- 78.
In a closely contested game from start to finish, Fenerbahçe secured an 83-78 victory over TOFAŞ, led by Johnny Juzang.
The result marked Fenerbahçe‘s first win in their second preseason game. Saras Jasikevicius’ side will face Olympiacos in their next warm-up game.
TOFAŞ, meanwhile, suffered their second defeat in four preseason games. They will take on Galatasaray MCT Technic in their next friendly.
For Fenerbahçe, Johnny Juzang had 15 points, while Talen Horton-Tucker added 12, Chris Silva scored 11, Wade Baldwin finished with 9, and Braxton Key contributed 8 points.
TOFAŞ was led by Tre’Shawn Thurman, who scored 19 points. Zach Nutall added 13, while Bryce Jones finished with 12 points.
Last but not least, Milan beat Verona 76-75 behind 16 points by Alec Peters, 13 by newcomer Garrison Mathews, and 10 by Moses Wright.
