Zuffa Boxing opens its UK run with a main event that places two contenders close to a title opportunity. Can Billam-Smith hold his ground against a pressure puncher who comes forward and throws with bad intentions, or does Rozicki break through and force his name into the top end of the division.

Billam-Smith (21-2, 13 KOs) knows the venue and knows how to work a 12-round fight in front of that crowd. At his best, he tightens the space, works the body, and makes opponents fight at a pace they do not want.

Rozicki (21-1-1, 20 KOs) brings a different look. He walks in, lets his hands go, and forces exchanges. Eighteen of his knockouts have come inside three rounds, which tells you everything about his approach. He throws to hurt, and he will test Billam-Smith’s chin early.

Chris Billam-Smith said: “I’m coming home. This is a huge opportunity for me back in front of my amazing supporters. Sky Sports know just how incredible these fight nights are in Bournemouth and this one will be no different.”

Ryan Rozicki added: “It’s a tough fight, and that’s exactly what I wanted when I signed with Zuffa Boxing. I know what he brings, and I respect that. But he hasn’t been in there with someone like me. I’m focused on my work, taking it day by day, and I’ll be ready on fight night. The fans are going to get a real fight.”

Billam-Smith has to show he can handle pressure without giving rounds away, while Rozicki has to prove his power holds up against a fighter who can take him distance.

The result will determine who moves forward in the cruiserweight title picture.
