Big Cass beat Je’Von Evans in his first WWE outing in eight years during “WWE Raw.”
Cass returned earlier this month, attacking Evans after his win over Ethan Page, and had since continued to target Evans before their match this week was made official.
The match started with Cass dominating over Evans with his size advantage, halted briefly by a spurt of fast-paced offense from Evans, only to re-assume control with a lariat. Cass continued to beat away at Evans on the mat and goaded him.
Evans created a bit of space with a pump kick but was soon dropped again with a scoop slam. Cass went for the first cover of the match and got a near-fall.
Evans got the better of Cass for the first prolonged period as the action spilled into the timekeeper’s area. He brought him back into the ring and connected with the Red Dot, going to the apron and connecting with a springboard lariat. Evans went to the top rope, but Cass pushed him off and dropped him with a Big Boot to get the winning pinfall.
After the match, Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh blindsided Evans as a receipt for his earlier attack on them backstage.
