A new report has given more details on TKO President Mark Shapiro’s recent comments about a potential deal between WWE and Disney in 2027.
TKO’s focus on strengthening WWE’s bottom line is evident in recent decisions like cutting talent, restructuring salaries, and partnering with various media partners. Now, it seems that they are keen to partner with another global entertainment giant, Disney, with “WrestleVotes on Fightful Select” reporting that the two companies have had discussions for quite some time, even before WWE’s broadcast deal with ESPN.
The report claimed that WWE stars will feature in Disney+ shows next year, while there are also plans afoot for WWE-themed events at Disney’s Florida venues. There’s also been discussion about WWE holding events and fan experience shows at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex, which can accommodate nearly 10,000 people. Other plans mentioned in the report, according to a source, include a Disney cruise line featuring WWE-themed experiences.
Shapiro said in his interview that the idea behind a potential deal between WWE and Disney is to bring in a family audience, which could attract more advertisers and, in turn, generate greater revenue.
TKO has fattened its bottom line this year, with revenue and profits ballooning yet again, as Q2 profits and revenue saw another jump from Q1 2026. It seems like such deals will only further strengthen the company’s finances, which appears to be TKO’s strategy going forward.
