Norma Dumont and Yana Santos have agreed to meet in the octagon on a yet-to-be-announced UFC event on April 25, both bantamweights confirmed on social media following a report from Ag. Fight. The UFC has yet to reveal the location for the show.
Dumont is ranked No. 4 on the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, with Santos currently sitting at No. 7. Both fighters enter the cage riding long winning streaks in a potential No. 1 contender bout, hoping to earn a shot at the 135-pound title against the winner of a planned clash between Kayla Harrison and Amanda Nunes.
Dumont (13-2) is unbeaten since May 2022, winning six in a row. Her most recent appearance was a split-decision victory over Ketlen Vieira, which followed wins over former featherweight champion Germaine de Randamie and one-time UFC title challenger Irene Aldana.
Santos (17-8, 1 no contest) is seeking a chance for the bantamweight belt eight years after challenging Cris Cyborg for the featherweight gold in her debut. The former Invicta FC queen is on a roll after defeating Macy Chiasson, Miesha Tate, and Chelsea Chandler in her most recent trips to the cage.
