Addressing an injury to Denver Jones, Bnei PenLink Herzliya picked up Toney Douglas.

The deal with the former NBA player was announced on Friday.

The experienced point guard signed a short-term contract until the end of December with an option to extend until the end of the 2025-26 season.

With 24-year-old Jones sidelined indefinitely due to an ankle injury, the Israeli club followed up on a recent reunion with Shawn Dawson by securing the services of 39-year-old Douglas.

A veteran of 409 NBA games, including 15 in the Playoffs, the most recent stages of his career included the Basketball Champions League. Specifically, Douglas has made his way to 22 games in FIBA Europe’s top-tier club continental competition with SL Benfica and Sakarya BSB. He has also displayed his talents in the FIBA Europe Cup with Sakarya, Iraklis, and, most recently, during the 2024-25 installment, Porto.

The team coached by Yehu Orland sits 0-1 in Group D of the Regular Season, following an opening loss to Tofas in Arena SamElyon on Wednesday. Resuming action in the six-game double-legged round-robin schedule and a bid to reach the Round of 16, Bnei Herzliya visits La Laguna Tenerife in Santiago Martin Arena on Tuesday.

Besides injured Jones, his new teammates stretch from Noah Carter, Shawn Dawson, Daeshon Francis, Noam Fux, Max Heidegger, Denver Jones, Jordan Lazar, Shalev Lugashi, Moriel Lutaty, Kai Obziler, Chinanu Onuaku, Omer Sadeh, Noam Schvartz, Nitay Shalem, Elijah Stewart, and Jordon Varnado.
