As the DP World Tour’s stars teed it up at Yas Links for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, the iconic venue has unveiled its newest attraction – the Tommy Fleetwood Academy (TFA) – bringing the Ryder Cup hero’s coaching philosophy to the UAE capital for the first time.

Following a major upgrade to its training complex, Yas Links will now operate fully under the Tommy Fleetwood Academy banner. The move expands Fleetwood’s partnership with Viya Golf, adding to the existing TFA base at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai and creating a connected network of elite coaching destinations across the region.

Fleetwood, who has long made the UAE his winter training home, said the new venture is a personal milestone.

“The UAE has always felt like a second home for me and my family,” he said. “We’ve built something truly special with the academy in Dubai, and it just keeps growing. To now be building in Abu Dhabi and giving something back to the region that has given us so much means a lot to us.”

The new Yas Links facility features two advanced swing studios, a dedicated indoor putting studio, and cutting-edge systems including Trackman, Swing Catalyst, Sam PuttLab, and PLATFORM Golf.

Karl Whitehead, Cluster Manager at Viya Golf, said the partnership cements Abu Dhabi’s status as a leader in golf development:

“TFA brings world-class expertise, technology, and inspiration to golfers across the capital. It’s another huge step in making the UAE a true hub for performance golf.”

Viya CEO Christopher May added:

“The Tommy Fleetwood Academy stands for excellence, professionalism, and a passion for player development – values that match everything we aim to deliver across our venues.”

The launch comes as participation continues to rise across the emirate, fuelled by thriving junior and ladies’ programmes and the club’s largest-ever team of PGA professionals.

With the world’s best golfers competing on its fairways this week, Yas Links Abu Dhabi is not only in the global spotlight – it’s now home to one of the sport’s most recognisable names in coaching.
