Henry Cejudo didn’t go out on a win last night (Sat., Dec. 6, 2025) at UFC 323 LIVE on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, but the former UFC double champion certainly went out on his shield.

Cejudo, who turns 39 this coming February, already announced that Saturday’s clash with rising bantamweight contender Payton Talbott will be his last fight ever. The former Olympic gold medalist retired once before all the way back in 2022 after winning and defending both the UFC flyweight and UFC bantamweight titles.

On Saturday, Cejudo was hoping to break a three-fight losing streak and walk off into the sunset once again with a trip back to the UFC win column. Unfortunately for “Triple C,” Talbott rose to the occasion and turned in the best performance of his career thus far. He was able to strike from range, land his own takedowns, and bust Cejudo up from bell to bell.

Cejudo, who has only been finished by Demetrious Johnson in his entire MMA career, refused to go down. No matter how many body shots or punches to the head Talbott landed Cejudo kept plodding forward trying to land a Hail Mary comeback punch of his own. That moment never came, but it was still a great showing of heart and grit by the former UFC double champion.

Following Cejudo’s decision loss to Talbott, UFC played a tribute video while “Triple C” was speaking with Joe Rogan inside the Octagon. It showed his rise to stardom in the UFC’s flyweight division before moving up and winning another title at 135 pounds.
