ANDY CARROLL was showered with compliments after ditching his caveman beard in a wholesome Instagram video.
The former Liverpool, Newcastle and West Ham striker let his five kids go to town on the face fuzz as part of an adorable game.
Carroll’s little ones – Emilie Rose, Lucas, Arlo, Wolf and Marvel – were rewarded with a go on the electric shaver if they correctly answered a question about him.
In the video, fans learn that Carroll’s favourite food is takeaway pizza and the team he hates most is Tottenham.
But what most viewers stayed for was the radical transformation once the bushy beard had made way for a smooth shave.
And many felt that Carroll, 36, looked better for it.

One person wrote on Instagram: “Takes years off you big man.”
Another commented: “You look loads younger.”
A third chimed in with: “Gotta say I was shouting NO to begin with, but it actually looks good.”
And a fourth posted: “Reminded me of the first term at Newcastle.”
Carroll has become iconic for his long locks – and for many years they have been accompanied by a generous helping of facial hair.
But he’ll report back for Dagenham & Redbridge duty sporting a new look ahead of their FA Trophy clash with Tilbury FC this coming Saturday.
Carroll, who once earned £80,000 a week, is said to have rejected offers from clubs in higher divisions in order to join the National League South side in the summer.

Since then he has been in an on-off relationship with Lou Teasdale – a former stylist for One Direction.
