Virtus Bologna and Tornike Shengelia in particular were taking no prisoners in Game 4 against Reyer Venezia.
Behind 29 points by the Georgian forward and thanks to a 18-1 run down the stretch, Virtus took a 96 – 81 away victory to win the series and qualify to the Finals for a clash vs. Olimpia Milano.
Marco Belinelli pitched in 22 points on 4 out of 5 triples for Virtus. His team had a spectacular second quarter to close halftime up 57 – 45 after trailing 27 – 23 10 minutes into the game. Venezia reacted to close the gap 73 – 72 early in the fourth period and make it a close affair once more.
Virtus’ response came in the form of 14 unanswered points that put them up 15 with 3:44 and more or less finished the game.
Max Heidegger led Venezia with 21 points.
