Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun joined the pre-game show panel ahead of the opening semifinal of the 2026 EuroLeague Final Four Athens, presented by Etihad.

Amid the deafening uproar at the Telekom Center Athens, where Olympiacos fans created an intense atmosphere heading to a meeting with Fenerbahce Beko on Friday, the Turkish NBA star found it difficult to communicate with the hosts but thoroughly enjoyed the moment.

Comparing European and American basketball crowds, he remarked, “We don’t have this out there, but it is amazing to see. It’s what people came to see, and I’m excited to see it.”

Sengun attended the event specifically to support the representative from his home country, Fener. He also expressed his desire to show solidarity with Ergin Ataman, the head coach of the Turkish senior national team, despite Ataman’s club, Panathinaikos Aktor, missing out on the Final Four.

“I came to support Fenerbahce. I would like to support my coach, Ergin Ataman, but unfortunately, he’s not here. Hopefully, next year. I’m excited to be here, support my team, Fenerbahce,” he explained.

When asked about his personal viewing routine regarding European basketball throughout the season, the center was transparent about how his demanding schedule in North America impacts his habits.

“I’m going to be honest, I don’t really watch it. I only watch the NBA because of the time, it is better for me. I always follow the scoreboards, everything, but it’s not easy to watch the games, but I always enjoy watching the EuroLeague,” mentioned the 23-year-old Turkish star.
