Thurman was held to single digits in punches landed in every round and only landed 28 total punches in the fight. Although he may have disagreed with the stoppage, Fundora was only beginning to punish him more.

With his dominant victory Saturday, Fundora sends a message to the division that he is a force to be reckoned with, demonstrating power and range. He’s been able to stop his last three opponents and appears to be only getting better.
“I’m very happy with my performance, of course. I think it was a great performance. A lot of training for this camp, a lot of training for this camp, we’ve been training for him since August of last year. It was unfortunate that we couldn’t fight in October, but we stayed training. We stayed getting ready for this [future] hall of famer,” said Sebastian at the post-fight press conference.
He wants to continue his championship reign in the super welterweight division, as he has no difficulties in making weight at this time. His reach and star power is only growing; he was happy with the support and the crowd present at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
As to what’s next for Fundora remains to be seen. His manager, Sampson Lewkowicz, stressed the current management problems faced by the Vergil Ortiz camp could make a fight with him difficult. With the recent fight announcement between Xander Zayas and Jaron Ennis, it could potentially set up an undisputed clash in the future with the potential winner.
Xander is the current unified WBA and WBO super welterweight champion, while Josh Kelly is the IBF champion. Fundora is open to facing the other titleholders in the division but stated he would ultimately release them as he is only truly interested in holding his current title, the WBC belt. He would simply face the other champions to prove he’s the best of the best. After Saturday’s performance, many believe he is.
