Real Madrid suffered a defeat on the road against Valencia in Round 10 of the 2025/26 EuroLeague season, marking their fifth loss in six away games.
Mario Hezonja logged 13 and a half minutes of play after missing last weekend’s ACB clash against Joventut. Despite limited time on the court, he contributed 11 points and five rebounds.
However, head coach Sergio Scariolo revealed that Hezonja is dealing with back problems.
“Mario played a good first half. He’s not fully fit; he didn’t play last Sunday because of back issues, not due to rotation, as I saw some interpret it,” Scariolo said.
The Italian coach remains hopeful that Hezonja will be ready for Real Madrid‘s upcoming Round 11 matchup against Panathinaikos at the Movistar Arena.
“He’s not completely well, and we hope he recovers in time for Thursday,” Scariolo added.
So far, Mario Hezonja has appeared in all 10 of Real Madrid’s EuroLeague games this season, averaging 13.2 points and 3.7 rebounds per contest.
