A REFEREE has left fans in hysterics for his farcical pitch inspection after heavy snowfall.
An official in the Turkish third division made sure he carried out his duties despite the pitch clearly being unsuitable for action.

The nation is experiencing significant snowfall in various regions, which has caused major disruption.
One game that stood no chance of going ahead was Kahramanmaras Istiklalspor’s TFF 2. Lig fixture with 1461 Trabzon i in the Mardin region.
Reports from Turkish TV channel TRT Spor claimed that the snow was 40cm deep in the southeastern area of Turkey.
A video of the moment has gone viral on social media as the referee took to the pitch in his full kit.

This was despite there being more than a foot of snow present on the grass as his and his assistants’ feet disappeared into it.
The referee still did the bounce test even though the ball just thudded into the snow with no bounce at all.
Just to be sure the pitch was completely unplayable, he then nonchalantly picked the ball up and did another test.
Fans could not help but make jokes about the bizarre video on social media.
One posted: “CONCACAF would’ve said this was playable.”
A second commented: “Ball is round, snowbanks are the same for both sides. Play on, we reckon.”
A third wrote: “Of course they did. No one should be surprised.”
A fourth said: “I was on the fence until I saw that ball drop. Good job refs.”
Another added: “Think it is touch and go myself.”
It was no surprise then that the match at Akdo Park has been postponed.
Kahramanmaras had already been affected by the snow in the build-up to the game as they have been forced to train away from their own facilities.
A statement read: “Due to unfavorable field and weather conditions, we are temporarily conducting our training sessions at the facilities of Adana Demirspor and Adanaspor.
“We would like to thank both clubs for opening their doors to us during this period and for their support and solidarity.”
