Real Madrid defeated archrival Barcelona in Game 2 of the Spanish ACB semifinals to go up 2-0 and get within reach of the Finals. The best-of-five series now moves to Barcelona, where the Blaugrana will need two wins to at least force a return to Madrid.
With five players in double figures and rebounding dominance (11 – 2 on the offensive end), Real Madrid put on a powerful offensive performance and won perhaps easier than what the final score shows. The hosts were ahead 90 – 73 halfway through the fourth period until Barca made a 3 – 11 run to cut the deficit to single digits with 3:07 to play.
Barca approached 100 – 94 with 26 seconds to play with a triple by Jan Vesely (24 points) but couldn’t get closer in the last moments.
Sergio Llull and Dzanan Musa scored 18 points apiece while hitting six out of Real Madrid’s 13 triples in the game. Facu Campazzo had 14 points and Edy Tavares posted 12 points plus nine rebounds.
Apart from Vesely, Satoransky contributed 15 points plus 11 assists for Barca.
