TRENT ALEXANDER-ARNOLD is reportedly on course to make a shock exit from Real Madrid this summer – after holding brutal face-to-face talks with boss Alvaro Arbeloa.

The right-back, 27, has been struggling with injuries since arriving at the Bernabeu last year.

And El Nacional report that Alexander-Arnold has been told to leave Real Madrid for his own good.

He was warned that he is not involved in the LaLiga giants’ future plans during sensational discussions with Arbeloa.

The Real Madrid chief also made it clear that Alexander-Arnold will not be handed regular game time when he returns from the leg problem he sustained last month.

And they have been alarmed by the amount of times he has been exposed defensively, along with how he has failed to make a serious impact going forward.

Alexander-Arnold has been limited to 16 appearances for Real Madrid, having made his debut at the Club World Cup, and he has only notched three assists along the way.

Los Blancos were expecting a significantly higher return after being a constant threat with his dangerous deliveries at Liverpool.

And Alexander-Arnold’s situation has reached breaking point thanks to influential figures behind the scenes deciding to cash in at the end of the season.

But the kind of fee that Real Madrid will expect is unclear after they inserted a staggering £840million release clause into his contract.

Alexander-Arnold’s representatives have already started looking at possible destinations in a desperate attempt to reignite his career.

His salary, which is thought to be close to £280,000-per-week, could prove to be a stumbling block.

He featured for Liverpool 354 times before deciding to walk away from Anfield, registering 23 goals and 92 assists along the way.

Alexander-Arnold also lifted silverware nine times with the Reds – including two Premier League titles and the Champions League.
