Real Madrid took a 2-0 lead in the EuroLeague Quarterfinal series, as they once again defeated Hapoel Tel Aviv at home with a score of 102-75.
Despite the absence of Walter Tavares, who will miss the rest of the series due to a knee injury, Sergio Scariolo’s team secured an easy victory with 23 points from Facundo Campazzo, who also added six assists.
Usman Garuba was impressive in Tavares’s absence, scoring 13 points and grabbing nine rebounds, while Theo Maledon also scored 13. Andres Feliz and Mario Hezonja each contributed 11 points.
On the other side, Dan Oturu scored 19 points, while Elijah Bryant, who played in this match, added 11 points along with five rebounds and four assists. Chris Jones finished the game with 10 points.
We witnessed two completely different halves – Hapoel played excellently in the first 20 minutes and went into halftime with a two-point lead (42-40).
However, their good play disappeared in the second half. Real started the third quarter well and quickly gained a double-digit lead, then extended it to +15 (71-56). Hapoel closed the gap to ten points (77-67), but at that moment, Vasilije Micic was ejected, after which the home team went on an 11-0 run, securing an easy victory and a 2-0 lead in the series.
The next game of the series will be played on Tuesday, May 5th, in Bulgaria, where Hapoel is the host.
