The PFL will no longer hold an event Friday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The MMA promotion announced Wednesday that it has decided to “postpone” PFL MENA 10 “until further notice.” No new date has been confirmed, nor whether or not the bouts scheduled for Friday will be moved to other cards.
PFL MENA 10 was expected to have Hattan Alsaif vs. Dania Ouhachi in a catchweight main event, and feature quarterfinal bouts of the local welterweight and flyweight tournaments.
“The decision is based on internal operational and event readiness considerations, as we continue to ensure the highest standards of delivery,” the PFL statement read. “We remain committed to hosting PFL MENA in Jeddah and look forward to welcoming fans for what promises to be another exciting night of world-class mixed martial arts action.”
This is not the first time PFL has cancelled an event in Saudi Arabia. PFL MENA 8 was planned for May 8 Khobar, but the organization announced a month prior it was no longer happening.
With that event cancelled, PFL’s next show will be the San Diego card on June 27. Former Bellator champion A.J. McKee faces off with undefeated Salamat Isbulaev in the featherweight headliner, while former Bellator and PFL titleholder Liz Carmouche battles Viviane Araujo in the co-main event.
