Gino van Steenis set the tone for his brother early at PFL Madrid on Friday.

The younger van Steenis needed less than three minutes to catch Mark Ewen with a stunning straight right and put an end to their lightweight bout.

Van Steenis’ brother Costello van Steenis defends his PFL middleweight title against rival Fabian Edwards in the PFL Madrid main event.

Ewen was floored and van Steenis slipped in another punch for good measure before referee Blake Grice could intervene. The official time of the stoppage was 2:43 into Round 1.

Van Steenis (8-2) has now won two straight fights and four of his past five. His prior PFL appearance saw him lose via knockout to Connor Hughes, but he rebounded with a win at a WAR MMA show in December and is now on a streak after taking out Ewen.
