Panathinaikos Aktor center Mathias Lessort has successfully undergone elbow surgery to correct a persistent issue that troubled him throughout the late stages of the 2025–26 season.
The 30-year-old French big, who was cleared to play in Greece’s Stoiximan GBL Finals, chose to address the physical setback immediately following the conclusion of competitive play.
According to Greek outlet SDNA, the procedure took place eleven days ago, and the player is already entering the final stages of his designated rehabilitation period.
Medical staff estimates the total recovery time for this specific minor procedure to be approximately two weeks.
Consequently, the club management and coaching staff in Athens harbor no long-term concerns regarding his availability or overall health ahead of the 2026–27 editions of the EuroLeague and domestic competitions.
Lessort is expected to rejoin his teammates on the court within the coming days, fully recovered and performing at 100% capacity.
The successful medical intervention ensures the quick return of an athlete enjoying a stellar career trajectory as an interior force. Originally drafted 50th overall in 2017 by the Philadelphia 76ers, he established himself as one of Europe’s premier centers through impactful stints with AS Monaco and Partizan Mozzart Bet before finding a home with the Greens.
