The fight began with immediate drama. Foster came out aggressively and, late in the opening round, sent Ford through the ropes during an exchange. No point was deducted, and the bout continued after a brief delay.
Ford settled into the fight in the second round, finding success with his speed and counter punching. He landed several sharp left hands and body shots while making Foster pay whenever the champion became overly aggressive.
The early rounds were closely contested. Foster pressed forward behind combinations and right hands while Ford relied on timing and accuracy to score with counters. Neither fighter was able to establish complete control during the first half of the contest.
As the fight progressed, Foster gradually found his rhythm. He increased his punch output, landed consistently with combinations, and used effective pressure to force Ford into a higher work rate. The champion’s best stretch came during the middle rounds when he repeatedly walked Ford onto right hands and controlled much of the action.
Ford continued to have moments, particularly when he attacked the body and fired back with straight lefts, but Foster’s activity and ring generalship allowed him to pull ahead on the scorecards. Ford rallied in the later rounds and finished several exchanges strongly, though Foster remained composed and closed out the fight well enough to secure the decision.
After 12 rounds, Foster retained his title in front of his hometown fans and immediately turned his attention toward bigger opportunities at 130 pounds.
Woodward Stops Flores
Featherweight contender Javon “Pop” Woodward improved to 18-2 (16 KOs) with an eighth-round stoppage of veteran Miguel Flores.
Woodward dropped Flores in the second round with a chopping right hand and continued to apply pressure throughout the fight. Flores showed tremendous determination, fighting through a cut above his left eye and repeatedly firing back despite absorbing heavy punishment.
The action remained competitive until the eighth round, when Woodward scored two more knockdowns. Flores rose from the second but could not beat the count after the third knockdown, ending the fight at 2:31 of the round.
Sheehy Breaks Down Theran
Lightweight prospect Charlie Sheehy remained unbeaten, improving to 13-0 (8 KOs) with a ninth-round knockout of Nike Theran.
Sheehy controlled the fight from the opening bell behind a disciplined jab, accurate right hands, and consistent body work. Theran showed durability and survived several difficult moments, but Sheehy’s steady attack gradually wore him down.
After dominating much of the contest, Sheehy finally ended matters in the ninth round when a right hand dropped Theran for the full count.
Jones Cruises Past Osuna
2024 Olympic bronze medalist Omari Jones improved to 7-0 (4 KOs) with an eight-round unanimous decision victory over Diego Osuna.
Jones started quickly, scoring a first-round knockdown with a left hook. From there, he controlled the fight with his jab, movement, and superior boxing skills.
Osuna showed toughness by surviving several dangerous moments, but Jones consistently outboxed him over the remaining rounds to earn scores of 80-71 on all three cards.
Moses Stays Unbeaten
Lightweight prospect Zaquin Moses improved to 7-0 (3 KOs) with a six-round unanimous decision over Travis Crawford.
Moses controlled most of the fight with superior speed and accuracy, landing the cleaner punches throughout the contest. Crawford remained competitive and had his best success during the final round, but Moses responded well and finished the fight strongly to earn three identical scores of 60-54.
Early Results
Super featherweight prospect Julian Montalvo improved to 7-0 (5 KOs) with a fourth-round stoppage of Maximus Moya. Montalvo invested heavily to the body throughout the fight before forcing the referee to halt the action at 2:16 of the fourth round.
Middleweight prospect Frank Espinoza moved to 4-0 (4 KOs) when Bryce Blackwell’s corner stopped their fight ten seconds into the fourth round. Espinoza had controlled the action from the opening bell and hurt Blackwell repeatedly during the third round.
Super middleweight Jahyden Britton improved to 9-0 (6 KOs) with a fourth-round stoppage of Najee West. Britton scored three knockdowns with body shots before the fight was waved off at 2:58 of the fourth round.
