Olimpia Milano became the first team to qualify to the Italian League Finals by defeating Germani Brescia 96 – 89 on the road in Game 3 to sweep the series 3-0.
Giampaolo Ricci led a balanced Milano effort with 16 points. Nikola Mirotic (14 points, six rebounds), Shavon Shields (14 points) and Devon Hall (14 points) also stood out from Ettore Messina’s squad that began in a dominant fashion to win the first period 21 – 32 and closed halftime with a 39 – 56 lead.
Brescia was unable to erase such a deficit. CJ Massinburg had 21 points plus five assists and Kenny Gabriel scored 15.
Milanl will face the winner of the Virtus Bologna – Reyer Venezia for the title. Virtus holds a 2-1 lead.
