The Miami Heat remain the consensus frontrunners to secure former NBA champion Giannis Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks as a self-imposed pre-draft deadline accelerates league-wide negotiations. While the Heat look to redirect assets like Tyler Herro through willing third-party facilitators like the Detroit Pistons, the Boston Celtics are aggressively trying to hijack the sweepstakes. In Boston’s parallel pursuit, reports indicate they are increasingly receptive to moving Jaylen Brown. However, league insiders note that the 29-year-old guard-forward would not land in Wisconsin, but would instead head to a third intermediary team, such as the Los Angeles Clippers, to generate the exact combination of top-tier draft picks and assets the Bucks require.
While the Celtics complicate the market, Miami is widely viewed as the favorite due to the volume of their young talent pool and the 31-year-old superstar’s preference for South Beach.
