A few days ago, Paris announced on its website that Max Lefevre, until recently an assistant with the Minnesota Timberwolves, is the new head coach of the team.
Lefevre was officially presented in Paris on Friday, where he addressed the fans, club members, and journalists who attended his introduction.
To begin with, Lefevre emphasized that this is a big opportunity for him, one he will do his best to make the most of.
“Opportunities come, you have to know how to seize them. I’ve never sought out the next steps,” he admitted humbly. While he acknowledges that his president initially put a certain pressure on him, he arrives nonetheless with a clear vision, shared with the management.
Paris has had the same system for several years now, and it seems that Lefevre will not deviate from it either.
“It’s the way I would have played, and how many teams will play in the future. The first month of training camp is very important to set everything up as quickly as possible, because afterward, it will only be touch-ups with managing this schedule.”
There was also talk about the arrival of Pierric Poupet, former Asvel head coach, who will work as Lefevre’s assistant.
“He brings valuable knowledge of the Betclic ELITE and EuroLeague. For us, it was easy to call him to try to convince him.”
