Mateusz Gamrot is tasked with taking on one of the UFC’s hottest prospects.
The promotion announced Thursday that Gamrot (26-4) is set to fight Quillan Salkilld (12-1) in the lightweight main event of UFC Vegas 120, which takes place Aug. 8 at Meta Apex in Las Vegas.
This past April, Gamrot returned to the win column with a second-round arm-triangle submission of Esteban Ribovics. He has alternated wins and losses in his past four outings, defeating Ribovics and Ludovit Klein, and losing to Charles Oliveira and Dan Hooker. His UFC record stands at 9-4.
Salkilld is on a hot streak, having gone 5-0 since joining the UFC in February 2025. The 26-year-old Australian has finished four of his five UFC opponents in the first round, most recently defeating longtime contender Beneil Dariush via knockout in May. Following that bonus-winning performance, Salkilld called for a fight with Gamrot and now he gets his wish.
