Guehi, 25, was omitted from the matchday squad in last night’s win over Serbia.

He will now play no part in the international break as he has left the England camp.

The news was confirmed by England Football on social media.

A statement read: “Crystal Palace’s Marc Guéhi has left the England camp and will not travel to Albania for Sunday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

CRIS CROSSED

“The defender joined up with the Three Lions at Tottenham Hotspur’s training ground earlier this week but has returned to his club to continue his rehabilitation.

“Thomas Tuchel will prepare for the trip to Tirana with a squad of 24.”

Guehi will now continue his recovery back at Crystal Palace ahead of their Premier League game against Wolves.

The defender did miss the Eagles’ last league game against arch rivals Brighton and Hove Albion.

He was ruled out of the goalless draw at Selhurst Park due to an ankle injury.

Just two days ago, England boss Thomas Tuchel admitted that Guehi was suffering a lot of pain in the affected area.

He said: “With Marc it is very painful but there is no structural damage so it is all about the pain.

“There is the possibility that from one day to the other there is a significant improvement so we are working realistically towards the second game.

“If he is not in training on Friday and not able to train on Saturday then we will not make him travel with us and he will of course get rest and treatment.

“We want him to stay with us, want him to stay close. He is one of the leaders, he is an important member of the team.

“He is glue between many players and it is nice to see that he is trying everything to be included in the second game. We will assess him every day.”
