Sunday saw the first-ever meeting between elite-level NFL quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Lamar Jackson. Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers beat Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens 27-22, and in the process, assume sole control of first place in the AFC North division.

Rodgers versus Jackson is a matchup that is as statistically significant as it gets. It was a battle of the highest rated career passer of all-time (Rodgers at 102.4), versus his closest challenger (Jackson at 102.2).

It’s also worth noting that the fourth-highest-rated career passer ever is currently in the AFC North, Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals, at 100.7.

While the margin between Rodgers and Jackson, all-time, is razor-thin, today saw a pretty big divide. Rodgers went 23-34 passing for 284 yards, 8.4 yards-per-attempt, one touchdown pass, and no interceptions.

His passer rating in Baltimore on Sunday was 103.1.

Meanwhile, Jackson completed 19 passes in 35 attempts for 219 yards, 6.3 YPA,1 TD, and 1 INT. Lamar’s passer rating was only 71.0, but at least he ended a major statistical drought.

By throwing for a touchdown this weekend, he ended his streak of games without a TD pass at three.
