JURGEN KLOPP has announced he will become a pundit for the 2026 World Cup next year after teasing fans about “a return to the touchline”.
The German has not managed since leaving Liverpool at the end of the 2023-24 season, but he has been strongly linked with a number of managerial vacancies.
Klopp claimed he may never manage again and was later appointed by Red Bull as their Head of Global Soccer.
But now the ex-Borussia Dortmund coach has revealed has has taken up a new role in a social media video and will work with German TV station Magenta TV for next year’s tournament.
In a clip that teased fans about a possible managerial comeback, he said: “Many of you have always known better. But I truly couldn’t envision it for myself. Going back to the sideline? I don’t miss anything.
“This is what I always thought. But now it is tingling again. Grass underneath my feet. The heated atmosphere in the stadium. And I want to be really close again.

“Oh? No, not as a manager. I am becoming a pundit for Magenta TV at the FIFA World Cup 2026.”
Klopp has previously been linked to the German national team job but will instead be watching Julien Nagelsmann in action during the competition, which spans across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
